Every Poofy inbox gets a strong random password. Your browser remembers it, and you can log in from any other device.
Why a password matters for temp mail
Most temporary email services give you an inbox that anyone with the address can read, or one that disappears when you close the tab. A password fixes both: only you can open the inbox, and you can open it again later.
How it works
- When you create an inbox, Poofy generates a strong password and stores only a one-way hash of it.
- Your browser keeps the address and password locally, so the inbox is one click away next time.
- On a new device, log in with the address and password. You can also download all your inbox credentials as a file.
Keep it safe
Anyone with the password can read the inbox, so treat it like any other password. You can also share an inbox read-only with a revocable link instead of giving out the password.

What if I lose the password?
We only store a hash of it, so we can't recover it. Download your credentials from the inbox page to keep a copy.
Can I use the same inbox on my phone?
Yes. Log in on any device with the inbox address and password.
